FOOD: Catancakes

Yesterday was my boyfriend's birthday, and no birthday is complete without pastry. He'd requested an edible set of 'Settlers of Catan' tiles. At first it seemed like an impossible task, but in the end I actually enjoyed figuring out how to do the toppings, looking for the ingredients and eventually baking and decorating them. The wool cupcakes are probably my favourites, although the sheep were hell to shape.

The wood and ore cupcakes are coffee flavoured, the others are made of simple vanilla dough. The toppings consist mainly of butter cream and sugar paste in several colours, with some tiny decorations here and there.
All in all, it did take a couple of hours to bake them but I do think it was worth it.
